A very early PRS, built for a friend and bandmate at an original cost of $400. This guitar was built after the Peter Frampton guitar, as it has the birds that first appeared on Frampton's. But notice that the headstock is the earliest design that Paul used, prior to moving to the shape that is now associated with the Santana guitar.

This beauty has a DiMarzio that Paul painted the bobbins black on, and as you can see, the paint has worn from much use. This was definitely a working mans guitar, and has seen a lot of love over the last thirty years. Thirty years kind of puts it in perspective, as Paul was in college at the time.
